Impact of Leadership Styles in Indian Service Sector
(Dolly Yadav, Dr. Bhawna Bhatnagar, Dr A.K. Singh)

From the early days to till now leadership plays a vital role in every aspect of organizational goal. Leadership works as catalyst for the employer to obtain the common objectives of any organization. Leadership in any organization holds a central position as it involves challenging people often to do what they don’t want to do. If people do what they were supposed to do, leaders wouldn’t have been required. Great results don’t drop like manna from heaven. Achieving the great results involves people having to get out of their comfort zones, make troublesome decisions, and engage in disconcerting new actions. Leadership helps, guide and motivate people to do best things. The successful organizations have one major common attribute that sets them apart form unsuccessful organisations i.e. dynamic and effective leadership. Most famous management Guru Peter F. Drucker has pointed out that effective managers (business leaders) are the basic and scarcest resource of any business enterprise. Most of the organizational failures can be attributed to ineffective leadership. The shortage of effective leadership usually called as OLQ- (Office like Quality) is not confined to business but is evident in the lack of able administrators in different type of organisations. Thus, when we decry the brain drain from India, we are not talking about the drain of people who could have filled administrative “bodies”. What we are agonizing over is a drain of brains willing to assume significant leadership roles in our society and can get the job done effectively.
